Solutions-Focused Goals


In counseling and psychotherapy it is important to keep the focus on the solutions rather than the problems. Rehearsing, reviewing, and retelling the stories of problems can derail the more powerful therapy work of identifying and stepping towards solutions. Help your clients form clear solution-focused goals. Train them to keep their eye on the goal rather than complaining about the challenges in reaching their possibilities.
